A hydroponic tower, also referred to as a vertical hydroponic growing tower, is a soilless vertical agricultural system. It stacks planting units in a tower-shaped structure and delivers water and nutrients to plants through circulating nutrient solution, so as to maximize yield per unit area and achieve efficient resource utilization.

Working Principle
A hydroponic tower is an innovative agricultural technology that converts traditional horizontal planting into vertical stacking. Its core principles are as follows:
  • Soilless cultivation: It does not depend on soil; inert substrates (such as ceramsite, rock wool and coconut coir) are used to anchor plant roots
  • Circulating nutrient supply: A water pump in the reservoir at the tower bottom delivers nutrient solution to the top of the tower. The solution flows down through each planting layer by gravity, and the unabsorbed nutrient solution returns to the reservoir to form a closed-loop system.
  • Direct absorption: Plant roots are in direct contact with the flowing nutrient solution, so plants do not need to consume energy to seek water and nutrients in soil, resulting in a faster growth rate
